How was the Danny Hero poster created?

We at Made in Corby have been involved in many exciting happenings over the past month and are bursting at the seams to share these experiences with the local community.

How our Danny Hero poster was created

Danny Hero Banner
Danny Hero Banner – created with the help of Tresham’s graphic design students

Corby’s new musical, Danny Hero, is now well underway with a fantastic creative team and talented local cast who had their first rehearsal last week. We’ve hosted a volunteer information session where even more local people grasped the opportunity to be involved in the musical, whether that be backstage or helping us to promote the event.

We have also been working with Tresham College giving their Graphic Design students the opportunity to try out their design skills on a real life project. Back in March, we gave the class a design brief and set them the task of creating a poster and flyer for Danny Hero.

The students were given time to create the poster and flyer in their own style while also working towards the brief. We, along with Andy Barnes from Perfect Pitch, went back to Tresham College six weeks later, when each student presented their concepts. The designs were fantastic! Each student had their own unique approach to the given brief and we were astonished by the creative approach they had taken to including all of our partners’ logos into the design.

We just couldn’t pick a favourite! So we chose five students, whose designs showed some great ideas that reflected the themes in Danny Hero. These students attended a day with us at S.C. Agency, who create most of our promotional material for us, and worked with a designer to combine their concepts into a print-ready poster design.

Keep your eye out for this fantastic piece of work created by our local students!
