We’re joining organisations across the UK to commemorate the centenary of women’s right to vote. Over 8 weeks, join artists Carole Miles and Phiona Richards from The Eloquent Fold to explore women’s rights through textiles. The group will work together to create a banner, which they will take to a major event in London on Sunday 10th June.
No experience is necessary, just enthusiasm and commitment. Given the nature of the event, this project is open to women, including those who identify as female. Open to all ages, though under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the sessions.
Part of PROCESSIONS, a UK-wide mass participation artwork to mark 100 years of women’s suffrage, produced by Artichoke and commissioned by 14-18 NOW, based on an idea by Darrell Vydelingum.
This workshop is free to attend, though there will be the opportunity to contribute to costs. Places are limited so booking is essential.
